- An old magazine you're happy to cut up
- Plain white paper
- scissors
- glue/double sided tape
Optional extras:
1.Cut out strips of magazine to a certain length (I tried to do mine 15cm X 0.5cm) but don't worry if they're not all exactly the same length, its more the width that matters.
2.Arrange them into an order you like, I did colours fading into one another, but to save time you can put them in any order.
3.Glue them onto the paper, It's a good idea to leave a border of about 1cm if you're going to put this in a frame.
4.Optional: After letting the glue dry, cover it with the adhesive book film to stop the magazine strips peeling off. You could also use tape, or cover it with pva glue
5.Take the card, or make some by gluing two pieces of paper together. Draw a pattern to cut out on it, I found the simpler the pattern, the better it looks.
TIPS:
- Do a practice pattern before doing the real one
- White normal paper doesn't work very well, the colours show through, and is much more likely to rip while you're cutting out the shape
I don't own this image http://public-hairstyles.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/clip-art-tree-branch_21.html |
7.Now you can frame it, and hang it up, or use it to decorate a notebook
